Yoga Breath Centred Practice
Student describing her experience in exploring a breath centred practiceYoga Breath Centred Practice
I’m currently studying yoga anatomy with Leslie Kaminoff in his online course and am picking up lots fascinating information and ideas which is helping me to deepen my yoga practice. I’d like to share a clip of one of Leslie’s students explaining how her experiences are helping her to deepen her understanding of working with a yoga breath…
This clip is of a student talking with Leslie Kaminoff about her experience of exploring yoga as a breath centred practice. It’s great to hear her describe how awareness can change as you deepen your yoga practice; as the focus shifts from learning where you are moving your body in space to the more subtle elements of positioning in postures. What she is describing here is her recent discovery of the equally subtle layers of breath; from matching breath with movement, to how the breath can deepen the experience of a posture. In this instance she is describing yoga breath giving her support and stability in caturanga (plank).
At the start of practicing yoga there seems so much to experience and learn. I find that through regular practice and having opportunities to learn from other teachers, I continue to gain a deeper understanding of yoga and experience familiar postures in new and more subtle ways.
